Romanyuk Mykola Oleksiyovych

(28.08.1931, Kachanivka village, Pidvolochysk district, Ternopil region) Experimental physicist, Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1984). 1977-96 — Head of the Department of Experimental Physics, 1964-74 — Vice dean, dean of the Faculty of Physics, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Research interests: optical phase transitions in ferroelectrics – binary structure and dynamics of domains, e-polarization, spontaneous and induced optical parametric effects of nominally pure, mixed and irradiated crystals, birefringence sign inversion. Prof. Romaniuk has developed areas of spectral refractometry in the electronic spectrum area and crystal-optical thermometry. The author of nearly 350 scientific papers. Member of T. Shevchenko Scientific Society. Exemplary student of the University (1972). Distinguished Professor of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2001). Honoured master of Sciences and Engineering of Ukraine (2011).
