Stasyuk Ihor Vasyliovych

(23.09.1938, Berezhany, Ternopil region – 16.09.2019, Lviv) Physicist-theorist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1986), Professor (1987), Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1995). Head of Quantum Statistics Department and scientific affairs deputy director of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (since 1990). Research interests: mathematical methods of multilevel system theories, complex crystalline compounds and systems with strong electronic correlations; theory of ferroelectric phenomena in dielectric crystals; microscopic description of deformation effects in crystals; theory of external fields induced optical effects; model development of ion transport and charge transfer in solids. The author of 500 scientific papers. Vice-President of Ukrainian Physical Society (2002), Member of T. Shevchenko Scientific Society, Soros Professor (1996), winner of “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” (1998), Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2004), award of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine “For scientific achievements” (2008), Order “For Merit” III degree (2009), Honorary Doctor of Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of NAS of Ukraine (2011).
