Preuniversity Preparation

In 2012, through merging of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and the Faculty of Pre-University Training, was established the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-university Training. The structure of the Center for Pre-university Education and Certification (CPEC) includes training courses, pedagogic and certification departments.

Since foundation in 1957, the purpose of training courses is to prepare students for admission to Lviv National Ivan Franko University and to assist in choosing future speciality. For that, CPEC holds open days for departments, colleges and the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Pre-university Training, performs professional orientation work in secondary schools, organizes tours at the University for prospective students and so on. The audience of CPEC training courses consists of students of secondary schools, technical schools, lyceums and gymnasiums as well as those who already have a high school diploma. On the training courses, citizens of Ukraine are able to increase their level of knowledge of school subjects and prepare for external independent evaluation. CPEC also organizes training courses branches on the basis of secondary schools that have signed cooperation agreements with University in Lviv region and beyond.

Since 2012, branch of pedagogic education and certification successfully functions as part of the CPEC. Its purpose is to organize and hold training courses for teachers of secondary schools and I-II accreditation level universities. On the basis of Institute, with the assistance of relevant departments of the university, it also holds specific training courses, studying German, Greek, English, Spanish and Polish, Information Technology, radiation safety retraining and Trustee in bankruptcy training. This department also is organizing training for teachers of Ukrainian universities of III -IV accreditation levels.

To enroll in the courses, you need to conclude a contract and submit:

  • school certificate;
  • 2 photos measuring 3×4 cm;
  • copy of birth certificate or passport;
  • copy of receipt of payments for education transfer;
  • passport data of a parent.

Depending on the type, tuition cost ranges from 416 to 1268 UAH.

Persons who have completed University training courses in Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Engineering in the admission year, receive extra 20 points to the final certification results for admission on the basis of complete secondary education on a relevant speciality in this institution of higher education.

The Faculty of Pre-university preparation runs the Center of International Education, which operates a preparatory department for foreign citizens. Preparatory department holds annual courses that allow foreign students to learn the Ukrainian language and get training in basic disciplines. Teaching is performed in Ukrainian by teachers with extensive experience of working with international students. The purpose of this department is to prepare international students for admission and studying at university.
