Oleh Antonyak graduated from the Department of Physics of Ivan Franko State University of Lviv in 1971. He got a diploma in Physics, the qualification of a physicist, a lecturer of Physics.

Since 1971 and till now he has been working in Ivan Franko State/National University of Lviv.

From 1971 till 1984 Oleh Antonyak occupied different technical positions at the Department of Experimental Physics.

During the next 1978–1982 years he was studying to become a post graduate at the Department of Experimental Physics and was working at the same time.

From 1984 till 2000 he worked in Research and Development Department at the scientific research unit in different positions.

Namely, during the next 1989–2000 years he was a senior researcher.

In 1993 Oleh Antonyak defended the candidate thesis named “Optical spectroscopy and radiational properties of monocrystals SrCl₂-Ce”. The scholar was awarded the academic degree of the Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences specializing in solid state physics.

In 1996 he was awarded the academic degree of a senior scientific worker.

From 2000 till 2003 Oleh Antonyak was an assistant of the Department of Experimental Physics.

Since 2003 and till now he works as a docent of the Department of General Physics of the Department of Physics.

In 2006 he was awarded the academic degree of an associate professor of the Department of General Physics.

Since 2014 he has been doing a part time-job as a docent.

He was the executive of the state budget and economic contractual issues. Oleh Antonyak published 118 scientific works.

Among his educational and methodological contribution one should point out 4 tutorials and methodologies of carrying out the laboratory works.
