ABOUT PARAMETRIC EFECTS IN CRYSTALS WITH THE BIREFRINGENCE SIGN INVERSION

Using a phenomenological description of the piezooptic effect in crystals with the birefringence sign inversion (BST) an increase of piezooptic constants in the region of BSI is shown. The behaviour of piezooptic constants of LiKSO$_4$ crystals was analyzed. A rise of symmetry of piezooptic constants tensor in the region of BST was observed. The present effect will be used in practice, the analogous regularities taking place for other parametric effects.
