The reflection spectra of the RbPbCl$_3$, RbPb$_2$Cl$_5$, and KPb$_2$Cl$_5$ crystals in the fundamental absorption region ($E$=2–12 eV) at $T$=300 K and thermal evolution of the luminescence spectra in the temperature range of 4.4–300 K were investigated. The structure of exciton reflection in the RbPb$_2$Cl$_5$ and KPb$_2$Cl$_5$ crystals corresponds to four nonequivalent positions of the Pb$^{2+}$–ions in a unit cell. Radiative relaxation of intrinsic excitations in the crystal under study are considered to occur through the emission of self–trapped excitons.
