The electrical conductivity of holmium and dysprosium thin films (ranging in thickness from 4 to 80~nm) has been investigated under ultra high vacuum conditions. The experimental results were interpreted in the framework of heterogeneous cross–section thin film model. The charge transport parameters were calculated and the amplitude of surface roughness was estimated.
