The excitement of the wake oscillations by the confined electron bunch in the cold inhomogeneous plasma was investigated. The influence of plasma density on the energy losses of the bunch was examined. Wake oscillations in plasma were found to have a perceptible influence on the dynamics of both electron bunch and the analysed plasma itself.
