The influence of tensor forces on the mass spectra and the decay widths of heavy quarkonia is studied. The quasirelativistic Breit-Fermi approach is used. The bound states of mesons are described by the system of Rarita-Schwinger equations. The calculated results are compared with the experimental hyperfine splitting and leptonic decay widths of heavy mesons.
