A general expression for the $s$-particle electron distribution function has been obtained for spacebound systems. The analysis has been made for the one-particle and the two-particle electron distribution functions of a semi-bounded metal (the ion subsystem is modelled by a uniform background) when modelling the surface potential by a potential barrier.
