Manifestations of the optical activity (OA) in dichroic crystals with ‟isotropic point” are studied within the framework of the approximate electromagnetic approach. Polarization of the eigenwaves and emergent light is found for different relationships between the OA and linear dichroism (LD) parameters. It is shown that, in practical cases, a common linear dependence of the optical rotation upon the crystal thickness is superimposed with the oscillations due to LD. The experimental results for OA in semiconductor crystals ($\rm AgGaS_2$, $\rm CdGa_2S_4$, $\rm CdS$ and some others) known from the literature correlate with the theoretical predictions of this work.
