THE CALCULATION OF ABSOLUTE PIEZOOPTIC CONSTANTS OF TGS CRYSTALS WITH L-TREONINE ADMIXTURE

The mechanism of calculation of the absolute piezooptic constants of crystals using the Pokkel's correlations and experimental results of measuring the uniaxial pressure action upon the spectral and temperature dependences of birefringence were proposed. The dispersion and temperature dependences of absolute piezooptic constants of TGS crystals with L-threonine admixture were calculated. It was shown that the electrooptic effect makes the most contribution to the piezooptic constant changes near the phase transition region. The electrooptic effect contribution becomes insignificant ($\sim$13\ldots17\%), if the distance from phase transition point to the depth of ferroelectric phase increases.
