The results of studying a dissociative ionization of the methane molecule by the electron impact are presented. The experiment was performed using the monopole mass spectrometer-based apparatus. The most likely pathways of the methane molecule fragmentation under a slow electron impact were analyzed. The efficiencies of creation of the molecular and ion fragments of the methane molecule were measured within the electron energy range of 6-90 eV. The appearance energies for relevant ions were determined from the experimental energy dependencies of ionization cross-sections using the least-squares approximation by means of the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm.
