The problem of nucleon–nucleon scattering is considered within nonlinear chiral Lagrangian approach. The Lagrangian was of the SU2$\times$SU2 nonlinear form with four–fermion interaction. It turns out that tensor term has to be included for quantitative description of the — $δ _{1S_{0} } $, $δ _{3S_{1}}$ phase shifts. Introducing only two adjustable parameters, namely $g_T$ and $B$, we obtain good energy behaviour of these phases up to 1000~MeV.
