The problem of three unbound interacting particles is considered in terms of Faddeev equations involving the hyperspherical harmonics method. In the first approximation of the expansion in hyperspherical harmonics in the spherical system of relative coordinates of the six-dimensional space, the Faddeev set of equations reduces to a single one-dimensional equation.
