The Casimir effect on the basis of generalized electrodynamics of Podolsky is studied. The expressions for the energy density and the Casimir force in one-dimensional and three-dimensional cases were obtained. It was shown that the term caused by the presence of the Podolsky parameter has the nature of the correction.
